PreScan for virtual validation of ADAS systems
With road vehicles becoming ‘smarter’, their sensors can 'sense' dangerous situations before they happen. The design and testing of these intelligent vehicle systems is sensitive and can be costly and time-consuming.
PreScan is a dedicated sensor simulation tool for designing active safety systems and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) . It enables manufacturers to evaluate their intelligent safety system designs in a wide range of virtual traffic and road environments. With PreScan, advanced vehicle sensors, controls and warnings can be designed that go well beyond existing standards of safety.
PreScan:
- facilitates fast and cost-effective design iterations (saving time and money)
- allows exact control and quantification of the test conditions
- enables system testing in dangerous situations
- ensures that physical prototypes are right first time
PreScan’s application areas
- ADAS concept studies: Test a new idea within minutes.
- Benchmarking sensors: Recreate sensors from different suppliers and subject each sensor to a standardised set of scenarios.
- Algorithm development: Implement and evaluate algorithms for sensor data processing, sensor fusion and control.
- Robustness validation and sensitivity analysis: See how your system reacts when circumstances change or disturbances are introduced.
- Preparing road tests: Select the set of scenarios that should still be performed on the road.
- Rapid Control Prototyping (RCP): Convert Simulink algorithms into executable c-code that can be run in a real vehicle.
- Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) simulation: Test whether your intelligent vehicle system’s ECU works correctly by subjecting it to PreScan scenarios.
PreScan runs on a normal Windows PC. Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7 are supported. The software is delivered on a DVD or per download together with extensive documentation. The PreScan licensing policy is based on an annual subscription to the software. This includes technical support and product upgrades. Both stand-alone (node-locked) and network (floating) licenses are available. Technical support is offered through our local PreScan support teams
