Electric Vehicle Technology Testing

Electric vehicle performance, energy consumption, reliability and safety require extensive testing. The Powertrain Test Centre offers testing services in the field of hybrid and electric vehicles to the automotive R&D industry as well as to end-users such as fleet owners. This ranges from component level to complete vehicle testing, even at extreme ambient temperature and pressure conditions.

Under laboratory conditions, the performance of electric vehicles can be determined accurately and in a reproducible way. Electric range can be measured using any type of drive cycle, be it a standard ECE cycle or a tailor-made profile that closely resembles the actual end-usage. In contrast to large scale pilot testing of electric vehicles, laboratory testing of multiple vehicles can provide you with objective, high quality data in a matter of days. This data can support a fleet owner in selecting the best vehicle to meet their needs and can support the industry in setting the right development targets.
